Name: Google
Type of Project: Interactive Infograhic
Industry: Technology
Purpose: Showcase Research Findings
Problem: Our client needed an infographic representing their research study on the online and mobile buying behavior of travelers. The infographic was to be housed in Google’s thinkinsights to provide online advertisers with easy access to this valuable information. The infographic needed to be visually appealing, designed to Google’s thinkinsights brand, while clearly communicating the key takeaways of the research study.
Solution: With the client’s goals in mind, we recommended an interactive infograhic to help engage the client’s viewers. Our design evolved into two parts: the main scene with a high-level preview of the five stages of travel, which allowed the viewer to click through to more in-depth infographics that featured more detailed information for each stage. The main scene of the infographic was designed to meet the aesthetic requirements of the client and to entice the viewer to interact with the graphic. The interior, more detailed infographics for each stage of travel were designed to represent each stage for a seamless experience for the viewer. The interactive elements were built in Flash, and in order to ensure the interactive infographic could be viewed across all platforms we created an HTML5 version of the creative as well. The end result was a successful collaboration of design and interactivity that effectively communicated the client’s research findings in a fun way.
