Type of Project: Word of Mouth Infographic

Industry: Technology

Problem: The client needed to present research information on the effect that the Internet and Internet devices had on Word of Mouth, and wanted to deliver it through a creative visual story. The client also needed to provide an overview of the information in a one-page handout that contained some of the detail that would not be included in the live presentation. The client’s content contained a lot of raw data and information, and we needed to provide a deliverable that conveyed a wealth of information with simple clarity.

Solution:

After receiving the content, we reviewed with the client what the results of the research were and discussed how we should tell it. We went through the deck, removed any extraneous data and information so that the presenter’s key message could be easily grasped. We developed a series of icons to represent important elements and phases within the presentation. Once the icon library was established, we rolled the new visual theme out through the new streamlined presentation.

Once the presentation was complete, we extracted the 5 key points from the presentation and then proceeded to find data to support each point.  Following the content structure in PowerPoint, we tied them together visually to give a sense of movement and illustrate how Word of Mouth spreads. The result is an appealing infographic that’s packed with all of the critical information necessary to support the original presentation. The infographic can also be found on Google’s “thinkinsights” page.
