One of the surest, and most common, ways to undermine your presentation goals
is to rush through it. You worked hard to prepare all that information. Don't
waste the effort or your audience's time!
You want your audience to listen attentively and absorb material, often in
addition to reading text and graphics— this takes time. When you cram
in too much content, they come away with nothing but a bad impression.
On the other hand, confident and steady delivery dramatically increases the
impact and credibility of your message, winning your audience's confidence — and
helping you achieve your presentation goals.
Three simple practices keep time on your side: Planning, Practice, and Preparation.
Problem:
Foamex needed to showcase a number of prototype applications of its foam
products but did not have the budget or time to produce the prototypes.
Solution:
We used Flash to create and animate demonstrations of the client's
products before to take the place of the prototypes. We embedded the Flash
demo modules into a PowerPoint sales presentation that we also created for
the client.
